"An informed, honest, joyous book. Younger women may well envy us." -Suzanne Braun Levine, author of Inventing the Rest of Our Lives and "Sex, love, and life can grow even richer as we grow older, and the stereotype-busting women in this book show us scores of ways. These women are not going downhill, they're on a roll. They are women of juice and wisdom-and living proof that the best is yet to come."- Gina Ogden, PhD, author of Women Who Love Sex, The Heart and Soul of Sex, and The Return of Desire When Deirdre Fishel and Diana Holtzberg began work on their documentary Still Doing It, they knew they were catching a wave. The women of the baby-boom generation who had been so outspoken about sexuality and freedom were about to turn sixty, yet no one was talking about the revolution in aging. Nor was anyone letting on about the big dark secret that women born before the boomers, even way before, were a hell of a lot more vital than the images we were getting, and many were still having sex-and loving it! In Still Doing It, Fishel, Holtzberg, and the incredible women in their documentary broke the silence. Now they are back, with a stimulating and eye-opening book that offers a deeper look at women who break every stereotype we have about sex and intimacy. These women are dynamic, confident, opinionated, and wise. They're also having the kind of intense sexual experiences and fantasies we never associate with grandmothers. You'll meet Betty, who met her live-in boyfriend in an online chat room when she was sixty-nine and he was twenty-two; Joani, age seventy, who shares her boyfriend with another woman; and Frances, who encountered the intellectual and sexual love of her life at eighty. Today's women are living longer, healthier lives, and their appetite for sex and adventure isn't fading. Aware of their mortality, they understand just how precious life really is, and are willing to take risks to go after what they want. Challenging stereotypes about older women, Still Doing It lets everyone know that sex and adventure do not need to end when you hit sixty (or seventy . . . or ninety!). In fact, the good stuff is often just beginning.

Labels like vegan, virgin, or nonsmoker get thrown around to identify forms of abstinence, but for many abstainers such labels are also proud declarations of who they are. Setting aside the moral debates and psychological assessments surrounding abstinence, Jamie L. Mullaney here asks why it is that the act of not doing something plays such a crucial role in the formation of our personal identities. Based on interviews with individuals who abstain from habits as diverse as sex, cigarettes, sugar, and technology, Everyone Is NOT Doing It identifies four different types of abstainers: quitters; those who have never done something and never will; those who haven't done something yet, but might in the future; and those who are not doing something temporarily. Mullaney assesses the commonalities that bind abstainers, as well as how perceptions of abstinence change according to social context, age, and historical era. In contrast to such earlier forms of abstinence as social protest, entertainment, or an instrument of social stratification, not doing something now gives people a more secure sense of self by offering a more affordable and manageable identity in a world of ever-expanding options.

From the boom of the 1990s to the bust of early 2000, women have been carving out careers in information technology. For these IT workers, it is not just about earning a living but about applying their technological, scientific and engineering skills and knowledge. Doing IT demonstrates that women fill a wide variety of these technological occupations, yet continue to face barriers preventing them from reaching their full professional potential. Scott-Dixon examines the IT environment's traditional workplace that keeps gender, race, class, ability and pay inequities firmly in place. Drawing on personal interviews, she shows that despite these barriers, women in IT bring passion to their jobs and draw on their wit, intelligence and creative resourcefulness to shape their career paths. Doing IT is an invigorating conversation among women in search of greater employment opportunities.

Book of the Year at the Summer in the City Awards 2017 Sexting. Virginity. Consent. The Big O ... Let's face it, doing it can be tricksy. I don't know anyone (including myself) who has sex all figured out. So I've written a book full of honest, hilarious (and sometimes awkward) anecdotes, confessions and revelations. And because none of us have all the answers, I've invited some friends and fellow YouTubers to talk about their sexuality, too. My book is for everyone, no matter what gender you identify as or who you fancy. We talk about doing it safely. Doing it joyfully. Doing it when you're ready. Not doing it. Basically, doing it the way you want, when you want. So. Let's do this ... ------- Doing It candidly and openly explores topics like masturbation, slut-shaming, pornography and consent, as well as how to maintain healthy relationships in a digital age.

Have you ever known one of those individuals who loves his family and friends too much, is passionate about his "calling," is entirely too sensitive to the plight of others, and is totally mystified by those who live by the "everything in moderation" mantra? If not, allow me to introduce James Thurber Russell. Doing It Wrong?,relates theodysseyof a dedicated, passionate, educator; a father figure to his students; a magnetic personality possessing an outrageous, uncensored sense of humor; a loving husband, father, son, and friend who constantly seeks his conception of the "ideal" while being detoured by the "real" world. The events and people populating his world, the evaluation of his and their many life-altering decisions, and the consequences of those actions reveal the story of a man who thought he was doing it so right in a world that told him he just might be doing it wrong. The novel explores JT's growing disenchantmentwith the profession he once loved, which he nowviews as compromised and misdirected by well intentioned, misguided, outside political influences. The taleexamines the bonds and bounds of loyalty, loss and survival, the responsibilities and demands of intimacy, poor life choices and second chances,"wanting" as opposed to "having," predestinationand free will, selflessness versus selfishness, and the illusion of happy endings. The dialogue is frank, touching, humorous, sexual, and perhaps shocking. Strong character development lends itself to a genuine care and concern for some characters and a distaste and replusion for others. Welcome to JT Russell's world of Doing It Wrong?.

Lovers who'll steal everything. . .your wallet, your keys, your inhibitions, and sometimes even your heart. Thief Of Hearts There's never a dull night in the ER for Dr. Jared Dean, especially when the woman of his fantasies beats the crud out of the city's toughest mobster. It's enough to get a guy all hot and bothered. Kara, a/k/a The Avenging Angel, is sort of a Robin Hood with better shoes. But her latest stunt has the gorgeous doc on a mobster's hit list. There's only one thing to do: guard Dr. Jared's fine bod until she can figure a way out of this mess. . . Wild Hearts Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. Too bad he was trying to steal her car. Kat Wechter has no intention of letting that happen, but it's amazing what an irresistible bad boy can drive a woman to do (pun intended). And Chester "Chess" McNamara is not your typical car thief. Seems he's fueled (ouch) by more complicated motives. And to find out what they are, Kat is more than willing to go along for the ride. . .(couldn't resist). Praise for MaryJanice Davidson "Unwavering in her humor." --Romantic Times "Her sexy sense of humor is irresistible!" --Lori Foster

DOING IT WITH THE COSMOS: HENRY MILLERS BIG SUR STRUGGLE FOR LOVE BEYOND SEX explores the evolving pantheistic vision and agonizing personal relationships of this rogue elephant of American literature. After years of exclusive conversations with people who knew Miller when he lived in Big Sur, the author concludes that, contrary to a popular mindset, Miller was not an apostle of gratuitous playboy sex. On the contrary, his books detail the mans tortuous efforts to integrate impulsive urges that were wholly beyond control into a higher, more spiritual, form of love that may, or may not, include sex. His message: "We dont have to make [the earth] a paradise. It is one. We have only to make ourselves fit to inhabit it ... Love is not a game, its a state of being." This book is a unique introduction to one of Americas most controversial literary greats, tracing his spiritual development from its shaky beginnings in Paris through its expansion in Greece to its culmination in Big Sur. The book not only serves as a manual of happiness, it is a caveat for people planning to play house together. Millers ultimtely joyful Nature wisdom, is an antidote for what ails an entire generation of restive, sex and violence-inundated Americans.
